Sam Cho

Sam Cho brings experience in high-performance computing, research computing, systems engineering, and technology infrastructure to Empire AI. Prior to joining Empire AI, he served as a Research Systems Engineer with Columbia University Information Technology, where he designed, implemented, and supported HPC infrastructure to meet the evolving computational and data needs of researchers across disciplines.

His background includes HPC systems, workload management, computing and storage infrastructure, data management, automation, and technical support. Earlier in his career, Sam supported technology and computing systems at Upward Farms and the North Carolina State University Phytotron, where his work included developing and maintaining technology solutions to support scientific research.

At Empire AI, Sam helps manage and support the high-performance computing infrastructure that powers the consortium’s research. His work helps ensure that Empire AI’s computing and storage systems remain reliable, scalable, and responsive to the growing needs of researchers across New York.
